I'm so glad you're here.

My name is Kathryn Martinez and I am a nurse practitioner with a passion for helping people improve their mental health and wellbeing.

Meet your nurse practitioner

I understand that seeking treatment can be a difficult decision, but I want to assure you that you've come to the right place. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment.

I believe that treatment is specific to each individual and I have the ability to incorporate an interdisciplinary evidence-based treatment approach through therapy, medication management, and holistic care in order to treat specific individualized symptoms.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who earned her graduate degree from DeSales University. I have experience in working with diverse populations in acute inpatient settings and various rotations in outpatient health care settings. I specialize in treating patients with mood and personality disorders, anxiety, depression, OCD, and ADHD.

I believe that it is important to take into account how each patient feels about their own individual treatment and what is important for them. I want each person to feel heard and hopeful

Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, or other mental health concerns, I am here to help. It takes courage to take the first step towards seeking treatment, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you on your journey towards healing and growth.

My Approach

Step 1: Assessment and Goal Setting

During our first session, we will spend time getting to know each other and discussing your reasons for seeking treatment. I'll ask questions about your current challenges, past experiences, and personal goals to help me understand your unique needs and develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your specific needs and goals.

Step 2: Developing a Plan

Based on the information gathered during our initial session, we will work together to develop a plan that outlines our treatment goals and the frequency of our sessions. I'll also make sure to provide you with an overview of the treatment process, so you know what to expect

Step 3: follow up sessions

In our treatment sessions, we will work together to identify patterns of behavior and thought that may be causing or contributing to your challenges. We'll also explore your feelings and emotions in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. I'll offer to help you build skills and strategies to cope with your challenges and achieve your goals while collaborating with other treatment providers.

Step 4: Regular Review and Feedback

Throughout our sessions, we will regularly review and evaluate our progress towards your goals. This will determine if medication continues to be the right decision for you or possibly tapering off is a better choice. This will allow us to adjust our plan as needed and ensure that you are getting the most out of treatment. I also welcome feedback from my clients, as this helps me tailor my approach to better meet your needs and preferences.

In addition we will monitor labs, evaluate for possible side effects, assess for need of genetic testing and physical health
